Nothing To See Here, Just A Totally Normal Comedy Show, Wouldn’t Worry About It

Review by Ned McVicar and Dylan McBurney

Jett and Zoe are your favourite comedians’ favourite comedians.

The creation of Jett Bond and Zoe Heim, "Nothing To See Here, Just A Totally Normal Comedy Show, Wouldn’t Worry About It." is an incredibly creative and brilliantly unhinged show for everyone who isn't a cop. Seriously, you won't enjoy it if you're a cop, I would probably just pass. Otherwise, this show is a must see for lockpickers, hackers and hopeful getaway drivers.

Interactivity is the name of the game. Also emphasis on game, because this show really starts to feel like one. Audience members will become critical parts of the show at the drop of a hat, given time sensitive tasks and a hidden camera for the rest of the audience to watch a live feed of, this show is genuine, non-stop fun.

Unsurprising to anyone who's seen them before, Jett and Zoe are masterfully funny, both in content and execution. The written jokes are performed so effortlessly you'd swear they've just come up with them, and the improvised jokes are so pitch perfect you'd need imagine them spending hours writing and refining them. Despite both slotting into the comedic foil role, they do so in different ways that make for a comedic duo that shouldn’t work, but do. These two have the power to make anything funny, and continue to push themselves with show concepts such as this.

I haven’t laughed this hard at a show for a long time. James Collopy’s unexpected appearance as the police officer was a highlight; he exercised restraint as a silent, looming presence until dropping lines that had the crowd in absolute stitches. ‘Nothing To See Here’ also fit perfectly in its venue, Theory Bar. You get the feeling that you’re not seeing a rising comedian begrudgingly performing for a Fringe audience and dreaming of a 200-seater, but an intimate show calculated in its small scale and chaos, and delivering every single audience member a brilliant experience.

Overall I can’t help but feel immense excitement towards this show, and the range of different elements and mechanics Jett and Zoe are adding to their collective repertoire. Their shows are starting to feel like one of those street performers that play like 17 instruments at once, and can’t wait to see what they come up with next with their new range of toys. If you’re an artist, and you buy even a single ticket to a festival show, let it be Jett and Zoe’s.
